The math, in the open

Pick your zones. Watch the number.

A zone is one indoor head — one room or open area with its own remote. Most three-bedroom houses land between three and five zones; the visit settles it exactly.

Income-eligible households can qualify for enhanced rebates up to $16,000 — sometimes a no-cost install. If that might be you, call us before you do anything else.

Straight answers

Questions we get every week

Do heat pumps actually heat in a Massachusetts winter?

Modern cold-climate units are built for exactly this. The TCL systems we install are rated to keep producing heat at −22°F — colder than most Massachusetts winters ever get. The number that matters is heating capacity at 5°F; it’s published for every model, and it’s what we size against with a room-by-room load calculation.

What counts as a “zone”?

One indoor head — a room or open area with its own remote and its own temperature. Most three-bedroom houses land between three and five zones; the visit settles it exactly.

What warranty comes with it?

The TCL systems we install carry a manufacturer warranty of up to 10 years on parts and compressor with product registration, and the exact terms go into your written quote — no fine-print surprise.

How does the Mass Save rebate actually reach me?

Your install runs with our Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network partner using ENERGY STAR cold-climate certified equipment — that combination is what keeps you rebate-eligible. We file the paperwork; the check comes to you. Whole-home rebates ($2,650/ton) require adequate weatherization first; partial-home rebates ($1,125/ton) need an integrated control; both cap at $8,500. Applications for 2026 installs are due February 28, 2027.

How does the 0% HEAT Loan work?

Mass Save finances the work at 0% interest — up to $25,000 over as long as 7 years, through participating lenders, with no prepayment penalty. The required first step is a no-cost Home Energy Assessment, which we help you book. It’s subject to credit approval, and to be plain about it: we’re an HVAC company, not a lender.

What if my income is on the lower side?

Mass Save’s income-eligible tier is a different animal: enhanced rebates up to $16,000, and sometimes a no-cost install through their turnkey program. Eligibility depends on household size and income documentation — one phone call and we’ll check which tier you’re in before you spend anything.

Ducted or ductless — which is my house?

If your house already has ducts from a furnace or central AC, a ducted heat pump can use them — nothing on the walls, heat and cooling through the vents you already own. No ducts? Ductless heads skip the sheet metal and give each room its own control. Old ductwork sometimes needs sealing or resizing first; that’s part of the load calculation, not a surprise later.

What can change the price?

A few site conditions genuinely add work: refrigerant line runs well beyond standard length, an electrical panel with no room left, condensate pumps where a drain can’t fall on its own, and any weatherization Mass Save requires before paying a whole-home rebate (the 0% loan covers that too). All of it gets measured on the visit and written into the quote before you sign — the number you agree to is the number you pay.

The fine print, in plain English

Prices are our current TCL price book: complete installed systems — equipment, materials, labor, and electrical. Sales tax, where it applies, is extra. Rebate and payment figures are the 2026 Mass Save program and estimate roughly ¾ ton per zone; your exact numbers come from the final system design. Verify any program detail at masssave.com.
